Creating a learning environment that promotes health and well-being for all students and staff is a priority for all district schools. It is increasingly evident that good nutrition and an active life style contributes to student success and achievement in school. Planning for the health and wellness of our students is a collaborative process that involves networking among many different stakeholders in schools and across the community.

This full-day symposium will begin with keynotes by Caroline Whitby and Heather Morse, educators from the Annapolis Valley Health Promoting School Program in Nova Scotia.  Other breakout sessions will be available featuring local, provincial and national community groups such as, Alberta Milk, AADAC, Be Fit for Life, U. of A School of Public Health, and Capital Health.

Goals for the Day... Timetable ->
  • Build expertise in the areas of health and well-being
  • Learn about best practices
  • Build community connections that will enhance their own school program.
