This day will:

  • Provide an overview for teachers new to trait writing
  • Update and extend teachers already incorporating the traits in classroom writing
Goals for the Day...

Teachers will gain strategies and processes for:

  • Empowering students to think, act and write authentically
  • Deepening understanding of the writing process
  • Using literature to connect reading and writing across the curriculum
  • Developing a common language for writing assessment
About the Keynote...Jeff Hicks
  • over 18 years teaching in elementary and junior high

  • co-author with Vicki Spandel of the Great Source Write Traits™ Classroom Kits, grades 1-8, the Write Traits™ Advanced Notebooks, Levels I and II for high school students, and the new Write Traits™ Kindergarten

  • full time writer and presenter.
