English Language Support Services Centre

The English Language Support Services Centre (ELSSC) provides support to schools through initial assessment of new district English language learners (ELL's), multilingual/cross-cultural consultation and interpretation support to schools with ELL's, orientation information for ELL parents and students, instructional and programming consultation, coaching and professional development to assist schools in addressing and supporting the educational needs of English Language Learners, and collaboration with community resources.  ELSSC services are available to district schools at no charge*.

ELSSC is also providing dedicated consultant support in 2007-08 to 9 district schools that are participating in 3 new ELL Clusters, as part of a pilot project

The ELSSC is located on the lower level of John A. McDougall School (10930 - 107 Street). Referrals for assessment, or requests for other ELSSC services may be made by contacting the ELSSC office. Request Form |
